Xiao Ying holds an Honours in Psychology and a Masters’ in Guidance and Counselling. She has extensive experience working with children and adults with autism. 
 
Ying experienced first-hand the physical, emotional and social benefits of the arts through contemporary dance and playback theatre. In growing her passion - to benefit the community through the arts - she has also attended numerous workshops in Dance Movement Therapy, music education (Kodaly, Dalcroze) and community music facilitation. These have equipped her to empower members of the community in movement activities and music-making regardless of background.

Following her belief in the therapeutic value of the arts, she completed a Graduate Diploma in Expressive Arts Therapy, further expanding the arts-based approaches in her work. Her combined experience in teaching and different forms of improvisational arts makes her adept at tailoring her activities to suit groups and individuals with varying needs.
